Sheesh. Meet Phoebe Farragut - the daughter of an American millionaire and living proof that money can't buy you love. Poor Phoebe, like her best friend Tracy, is besotted with James and spends most of her time finding excuses to go off on excursions with him. Unlike Tracy, she's entirely below James's radar; her feelings remain firmly unrequited, and Phoebe doesn't have the self-confidence to pursue them. Despite this, she plays a vital role in the group - it's often Phoebe who funds costly travel expenses to worldwide destinations, thanks to her incredibly wealthy father. She's also pretty fearless and known for her perpetual good humour, which normally manifests itself in a kind of mock-grumbling sarcasm.
